Pretty Little Four Eyes

I'm not a super fan of American Idol but I remember seeing Ms. Brooke White a few seasons ago and I thought she was adorable. And when I ran across her project with Ms. Summer Bellessa called "The Girls with Glasses Show" I was reminded just how stinkin' cute she is. These two lovely ladies have put together a little talk show of sorts where they interview musicians or artists and make the occasional silly video. See for yourself here.
My favorite thing about the show is their fashion. Summer is also the editor of a magazine called "Eliza" so she obviously has a great sense of style. I love the retro feel of their wardrobe—they often where actual vintage pieces which is so fun to see.

Cute right? Head down to your local Salvos and get some pink dresses for yourself. I plan to!
Or if you have a little more cash and want something brand spankin new, check out these great pieces from L'Wren Scott. They have that same vintagey feel.

I Heart Sterling Cooper

I am seriously missing Mad Men. Do you know the show? It's an amazing drama on AMC that chronicles an ad agency in the 1960's. It's acclaimed for its social and visual authenticity, both of which are equally intriguing to me and my old soul. I came across these images from Vanity Fair awhile ago and have just been sitting on them. It's time to share...
Mad Men
Isn't it all too beautiful to bear? The set design, the clothes, Jon Hamms jaw... stunning. And I love how the photographs really depict Don and Betty's relationship in the show: passionate and intense but so distant. Don't you love her yellow shoes with that green dress? Good idea Vanity Fair!

Of course this beautiful show has inspired many artists to create their own interpretations. Here are some great posters from designer Christina Perry and some illustrations from artist Dyna Moe. Such fun.

I Love Paris in the Springtime

It's going to be really nice here this week so I think it's finely ok to get emotionally attached to Spring. The midwest is notorious for teasing us with warmth and then spitting snow on our prematurely flip-flopped feet; but it's practically Easter so I'm embracing the sun and turning my thoughts to Spring. What better way to celebrate than to visit Paris? Even in the dead of winter, Paris is somehow ethereal and lovely, which is why I'm starting with some fashion shots of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) when she moved to Paris for a brief period at the end of Sex and the City, Season 6. Carrie is always fabulous, but something about her fashion while in Paris really charmed me. You can see why from these fashion shots...

And from these screen captures. I particularly love the shot of her in front of the patisserie and her gorgeous red umbrella outside of Dior. Oui, oui!

Au revoir!
